Traumatizer - I realize I’m getting a lot of mileage out of this photo by @gwmp

Welcome back babies! Seems like my hospital visit only screwed me up for a few days and I can hop and skip and jump - at least until my knee gives out. Lets get into the new update….

We’ve got some news and updates and crucial webstore updates for you. The Jug 7” is streaming in it’s entirety up on Bandcamp. Check it out here. I expect this to be gonzo within the month so if you need a copy from me, get at it now or hit up Sorry State, Ebullition or Revolver. If you want to see Traumatizer in action, you can see them getting seriously buck in this video here. I’m very excited about these releases and hope that you are too. We’ve also been slowly getting stock from Vancouver to Calgary and this includes the last few books and zines that we had there. These are now in the web-store so check them out if you’re looking for some decent art reference or just like neat pictures.

URANIUM CLUB - Infants Under The Bulb LP
We’re running a small preorder for this one and expect to see our copies in the next two weeks. Infants Under The Bulb is the 4th LP from the Punk Rock phenoms and has the Minneapolis Punks fucking around with their DEVO influenced, art-punk deviations. They’ve included horn sections and enough song writing prowess to make some lesser-tuned Punk jackasses call them jazz. After listening a couple of times they might be correct. The speed is still there, the sarcastic tone, playfulness, the plan. Like a good Krautrock record, Uranium Club hooks you in with the beat, holds you there and then tempts you with slight variations expertly placed to hook you in. By the time you realize you’ve been taken by them you can feel the radiation leak into your brain and the spittle’s on your chin. All of their releases are worth it but this one seems the most realized version of the group.

Ataque Zero - Ciudades 12”
Bogota, Colombia’s Ataque Zero blast out of the gate with their new E.P. featuring 5 new tracks of urgent, melodic Punk Rock that has as much to do with Leatherface as it does Ruleta Rusa. Some of the melodies really bring to mind something you’d hear on a Husker Du LP but played with actual energy instead of the tiresome approach they gave everything after New Day Rising (not sorry - have a nice original copy of Zen Arcade to trade - sick of trying to like it). If you were a fan of the earlier 12”, I think you’ll find this to be a step up. Ciudades is a record that gets better the second time around and the third.

Delco Motherfuckers - The First Full Year LP
Jesusssss, this is how it’s done. It’s funny when you can listen to Hardcore records all day and then throw something like this collection of tracks on and it’s a fucking palate cleanser. This is right up there with absolute explosion of H100’s, a nuclear blast of speed, aggression and scathing riffs. I couldn’t get copies of this until just now and I don’t expect them to sit around forever. A monster record and a modern classic. Play at full volume for the glass shattering effect. Why is it so hard to pull this kind of stuff off so effectively? Delco Mfers are pissing in your pint and you’ll thank them for the top-up.

Nasti - People Problem LP
Nasti have been churning out a particularly potent blend of gruel but I think they’ve got it perfected here. This is gross, noisy hardcore that reformats the genre in the same way that Godflesh reformatted Metal. Cold, aggressive and relentless. This is grinding steel with great riffs, a vocalist that sounds like they’re either being tortured or torturing someone. And with enough variance between the 9 tracks to keep me flipping the thing over before needing to cleanse the room with The Shirelles or something you know you’re in the right place. This shit IS Nasti. If you liked the other records, this one’s the best of the lot. If you like Pacific Northwest’s take on negative hardcore this also might be the best. Yes, I’m serious.

IRON WARNING
The long awaited and extremely delayed Iron Warning cassette will be completely finished and shipped by the end of the week. This project was nearly cancelled, nearly deleted and only by virtue of stubbornness its coming out. I believe this project is dead in the water at this point. Such is the case with many 1 man black metal projects. Regardless of the situation, it’s a good tape and a good release. To make a long story short, this was supposed to be out before tour, some “drama” occurred, it was up in the air as to whether it would come out, the masters were lost by the duplication company, the art got fucked up, the tapes got sent to the wrong address and now the printers for the J Cards are making excuses. New city, new headaches. It’s not hard to print something 4.11” x 4” but here we are 6 months later. If it wasn’t a headache to begin with i’d have this thing wrapped up by now. If you were to drop all interest in the label after this fiasco I’d not argue with you. It’s a mess.

CHAIN WHIP AND GOLPE TOUR
Chain Whip and Golpe will be touring down the West Coast together on a string of dates around the CY Fest in September. I’m personally very excited about this as the Golpe record has been rotating regularly since it came out a couple years back and Sorry State were kind enough to send me a spare colour version they had lying around. Thanks Usman! If you’re capable of committing to a good show for a couple International touring bands, please reach out! We’d be stoked to come and play, hang, eat some food, crush a few cans and crash on your floor.

Some fuckin’ gigs

BOOTLICKER IN JAPAN
In May, Bootlicker will be in Japan playing with some seriously influential bands and we couldn’t be more excited about it. There’s also a new 7” E.P. that will be available at the gigs. This E.P. will is 6 tracks, will not be made available via streaming/download. The only way to hear it is to go to Japan and buy it. I won’t have copies for sale here. I cannot reserve any. I am in this band but I am not the boss of this band. Torment Lewis. Not me. Bootlicker will also be heading South in September for CY Fest. and will have some more exciting news for you later in the month.

Imploders are heading out to the UK this month for a string of gigs. Pretty jealous, some towns I really wanna get back to over there. Please buy Todd a few of those insane “drinks” at The Hobbit. They let slip that they may be recording shortly for the next record.
